    1. Kris when you think of the amount of money we use on lids buying it does pay to have them. But I suppose it really depends on where our wallet is at the time. I think I will get my calculator out from 1972 and see what the cost is for us!

  28. The first time I used the Tattler lids they didn't seal, which was super disappointing because I was excited by the idea of reusable lids. The second time was a great success! I'm not sure what I did differently, but I'm glad they do indeed work when used properly :).

  31. I finally had my bulbs come up the second year at our last apartment. At least a few, and was looking forward to this spring. But we had to move. So I will have no tulips, dafodils and such to look at. I brought the fancier ones with me, but the great many dozen had to stay. I didn't pay for them, but it kills me to give up my lovelies.
I've been looking forward to convincing our local Ace Hardware to carry Tattlers this spring/summer. Haven't had the time to go over and chat with the manager though.

  38. I follow you on facebook already and enjoy it very much. I have a question about the Tattler lids... the plastic part of made of plastic number 7 which does not contain BPA, however, according to what I have read, plastic number 7 is a catch all for thousands of other plastics. I tried calling and e-mailing Tattler a couple years ago when I first saw these on the market to figure out specifically what kind of plastic the lids are made of but they never returned my call or e-mail. Do you by chance know? I quit using the standard metal lids because of the BPA lining and have since switched over to an all-glass brand, however they are expensive. Please let me know if you happen to know the answer to my question. Thank you so much!

    1. Stephanie I am doing some more research to your question about the plastic used in the Tattler Lids the most I have found out so far is. These reusable plastic lids are made using a plastic compound that is safe for direct contact with food. The FDA and the USDA approved them because they use Polyoxymethylene Coopolymer (POM) or it has been called Acetal Copolymer this is a food grade plastic. I am going to research these two products also. There is no BPA Bisphenol A which is on the metal lids as you mentioned.
